Carden Memorial School was founded upon the teaching methods and philosophy of Mae Carden, a 20th century educator. The Carden Method applies a classical approach to education, with the goal of instilling in each child a love of learning and the ability to think critically.
We focus on the development of the whole child. Our calm, happy classroom atmosphere engages each child in active learning. A hallmark of Carden is the instruction of reading, language arts, and math in small groups around the table. The curriculum in each grade reinforces and builds upon learning from the past and introduces new concepts to be mastered in future years.
At Carden Memorial, we believe that academic learning is critical, but becoming a person of honesty, integrity, and kindness is paramount. Our Christian teaching, which espouses ethical values and behavior, is woven throughout the subjects and experiences of each day.
