WELCOME TO CARDEN MEMORIAL SCHOOL The Carden Difference What makes Carden such a popular choice? Perhaps it is because in an ever-changing world, we believe some things should stay the same. At Carden Memorial School we want children to enjoy childhood. They should treasure classical literature such as Peter Rabbit, Black Beauty, and Robin Hood. They should prize great poetry from authors such as Robert Louis Stevenson, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, and Rudyard Kipling. They should take pleasure in expressing themselves with art, music drama and writing. Becoming a great student is only part of a Carden education. Becoming a person of integrity, honesty, and courtesy is just as important to us. It is one of the many reasons Carden Memorial School continues to enjoy tremendous success in our 41st year. Former students, now parents themselves, often return, seeking the same warm, loving, academically stimulating environment they enjoyed, for their own children. Our Mission for Your Child... Progress for every child is possible when the Carden Approach is executed by a well-trained teacher. Not only is academic achievement assured, but many undesired character traits are gradually eliminated because of the close eye-level communication each teacher has with the child during the small group sessions. The overly aggressive child is trained to hold his tongue and acquire some judgment in its use. The timid, shy child is given an opportunity to express himself. Every child is made to feel that the teacher cares about his progress. The relaxed atmosphere makes possible the most joyous teaching situation possible. True success is realized when parents report to the school that home life has been greatly improved because of Carden’s influence on the child’s behavior.
