Carden Cares: Road Home Lunches

Carden Memorial School is continuing a tradition of service with a commitment to provide lunches to homeless children staying at the Road Home Family Shelter. On the second Wednesday of each month, participating Carden families make an extra lunch or two and bring them to the collection boxes located in the school.

Our E Form students, under the direction of Mrs. Finlinson, gather the lunches, and spend part of their homeroom period making sandwiches and packing them with items like cheese, fruit, yogurt and granola- so that we can reach our goal of 100 lunches each month. Any extra time is used to decorate lunch sacks. One of our Carden parents, Mrs. Moultrie, picks up and delivers these lunches to the shelter. This has proved to be a great way for our students to find joy by lifting others.
