Pajama Program Service Project

The Upper Prep classes recently partnered with the Pajama Project to assist children in need. The Pajama Project brings new pajamas and books to abandoned, abused, or neglected children. This program is founded on the idea that "every child has the right to a good night."

With more than 500,000 children in the foster care system in the U.S. and more than 1 million children who are not living with their birth parents, the need is great. Many of these children are shuffled between group homes, shelters, and temporary housing facilities. Because of this upheaval in their lives, they have fallen behind in their reading skills and do not have access to books to read on a regular basis.

We wanted to bring some of the comfort we enjoy into the lives of these children by providing them with a warm pair of pajamas and a magical reading book.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity toward these deserving children, many of whom have never had a new pair or pajamas or a new book to call their own.
